Annabelle is an upcoming 2014 American supernatural horror film directed by John R. Leonetti, produced by James Wan, and written by Gary Dauberman. It is a spin-off of the Conjuring. [1] The film stars Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton. The film will be released worldwide on October 3, 2014On November 8, 2013, a spin-off film of the Conjuring, featuring Annabelle the Doll from the film, was announced to be in development by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. With Tony DeRosa-Grund, Peter Safran, and James Wan to produce, John R. Leonetti was set to direct the film from a script written by Gary Dauberman. [1] On January 15, 2014, news confirmed that Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton had joined the lead cast of the film. [3] Two more actors, Eric Ladin and Brian Howe, joined the film in late January before award-winning veteran Alfre Woodard also joined the cast. Principal photography began on January 27, 2014 in Los angeles. [6][4][7] On February 25, 2014, filming continued at an apartment on South Normandie Avenue where the 55-member crew shot for several days. A pigtailed doll possessed by a demon threatens a young couple with a newborn baby. Warner Bros. has set the film for an October 3, 2014 release.
