How to quickly turn off Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 using the Keyboard
Arguably all Windows users know how to turn off Windows using the mouse. Using the mouse is indeed easier, but what if your mouse is broken? Or if you're lazy to use the mouse? or in certain conditions you like using the keyboard only.
As in earlier versions of Windows, in addition to using the mouse, Microsoft also includes a function to turn off the Windows via keyboard. It's just that are specific to Windows 8. x, do a little different.
Here's how:
- Press the Windows key + X to display the menu power tools.
- Press U to display menu options Shut down or sign out. From here you can choose four options that exist.
- Press U to Shut down.
- Press S to Sleep.
- Press I to Sign out.
- Press R to Restart.
In addition to the above, there is another way a faster way. This method is valid only when you are in Desktop mode choice and instead of Modern/Metro UI. Ye press ALT + F4 to display dialog box. From here there is a choice of living slide using the up and down arrow keys. Easy isn't it.
