Vitamin D Free WebCam Software
Vitamin D is actually premium webcam software, but there is a version for free. Interested in trying, is interested in using it.
Vitamin D could be said is the most favorite webcam software. This 100% free, and comes with some nice features, and therefore a lot of download. Here are some of its features:
- Can detect moving objects in video surveillance.
- Can detect humans in video supervision time, meaning that it can distinguish humans from other objects (like cars, motorcycles).
- Can send you an email when something happens during video surveillance. For example, if someone tries to enter the gate and jump over the wall, you can set it up to send email.
- Vitamin D also allows Software bro easily check your video later.
System requirements
Video recognition requires intensive processing by your computer. The minimum requirements for a single camera are:
Windows
- Windows XP Service Pack 2+, Vista, Windows 7
- 2.0GHz Pentium 4 processor or higher
- 1GB RAM or higher (2GB RAM minimum for Vista and Windows 7)
Mac
- Mac OS X 10.5 or higher
- 2.0GHz Intel-based processor or higher
- 1GB RAM or higher
For multiple cameras, your computer should support 2 to 4 cameras per "processing core." For example, a fast quad-core computer dedicated to running Vitamin D Video should run up to 16 cameras recording QVGA video. Fewer cameras will be supported if you save at higher resolution, or other factors apply, which are described here.
Minimum screen resolution:
Minimum screen resolution:
- 1024 x 768
Disk space:
- 25GB of free disk space is recommended for QVGA with two days of temporary video
- Allocate more disk space to record higher resolution or more temporary video. Click here for details.
- Video can be stored on an external drive
A USB webcam or IP camera is required. IP cameras require a network connection to the computer where the software is installed.
Vitamin D Video is pre-configured to work with many webcams and network (IP) cameras. Click here for a list of supported cameras.
Note that recognition performance may vary by camera. Axis and Panasonic cameras, for example, provide some of the best results.
