Youtube History
YouTube is a video sharing website (video sharing) popular where the users can load, watch, and share video clips for free. General videos on YouTube are music clips (music videos), film, TV, and videos made by the users themselves. Format used in YouTube videos are .FLV which can be played on your web browser that has the Flash Player plugin. According to Internet research firm Hitwise, in May 2006, YouTube has a market share of 43 percent.
On October 9, 2006 it was announced that YouTube has purchased Google at a price of US $ 1.65 billion. In early April 2008 some ISP Indonesia shut down access to several websites including YouTube because it includes the negative film. Originally a fully blocking the blocking of the entire web site, but later changed to the blocking of a certain URL that contains the video only.
YouTube was founded in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees Chad Hurley:, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. Hurley had studied about the form maker at the University of Indiana Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Chen and Karim were both studied computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
YouTube, the most visited site in third, have been censored in some countries several times for various reasons. Countries that have blocked or still block YouTube are: Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, Pakistan, Syria, People's Republic of China, Thailand, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
Before the launch of YouTube in 2005, there are some simple methods that can be used by ordinary computer users who want to upload videos online. With a simple interface, YouTube allows anyone with an internet connection to upload the video and audience from all over the world can enjoy it in just a few minutes. The diversity of topics that exist on YouTube making video sharing has become one of the important part in the culture of the Internet.
An early example of the social impact of YouTube was the success of The Bus Uncle video in 2006. This Video shows the debate between young people and older people in a bus in Hong Kong which was much discussed in the mainstream media. Another Video that got a lot of attention is a game of Pachelbel's Canon by use of the electric guitar. The name is not printed on the guitar player in the video, but having watched by millions of viewers, The New York Times reveal who the mysterious guitar player. It turns out she is the Lim Jeong-hyun, a 23-year-old native of South Korea.
There are also some people who managed to become celebrities due to their surprise a video uploaded on Youtube:
- Chris Crocker, the youth of United States origin became famous after uploading videos entitled Leave Britney Alone where it was him in the video cried and protested the media's treatment of the Pop singer Britney Spears.
- Gary Brolsma, a United States-born youth is famous for lipsnyc the Numa Numa video he uploaded.
- Canada Ghyslain Raza, the young man became a major star in the video titled the Star Wars Kid. In the video he plays a golf stick as if he was a Jedi.
- Wei Wei & Huang Yixin, the duo's youth this Chinese origin refer to themselves as the Back Dorm Boys, where in the video they upload, they always do lipsync various hits of the world.
